Luxury designer cushions by Anita Bowerman

Hand printed cushions seem to me to be the perfect way to combine my artwork and with my extensive interior design experience. I love being creative and I am always looking for different skills to learn and master. I recently learnt how to screen print onto textiles. Velvet is such a tactile, beautiful fabric and seemed so fitting to print my paper cut designs onto to create my new range of cushions.

Using my own paper cut designs, I prepared the screens for hand printing. I am drawn to purple, green and bright pink, so thought I would start by screen printing using these colours. I was absolutely delighted with the results. The velvet became embossed when I printed the fabric. As a Yorkshire Artist based in Harrogate I thought I would start with my Harrogate paper cut Map and my Paradise paper cut design images for these luxurious designer cushions.

I had the cushions made up in Harrogate and I am absolutely thrilled with the end result.

My velvet hand printed cushions have proved very popular, particularly as gifts. I suppose it is difficult to buy art for other people, but everyone needs a lovely cushion.

You can purchase these cushions online here for delivery across the UK (with international deliveries by special arrangement).

Had a fabulous time at the gardens of Monet in the tranquil village of Giverny. Made all the more exciting when a massive storm hit the village the evening we arrived - ended up eating my Sea Bass in a plate full of rainwater..... as the restaurant got deluged!
