Art Exhibition at Newby Hall 2024 FREE TICKETS!

A Solo Exhibition of my artwork will be held at Newby Hall, Ripon, North Yorkshire from the 28th March to the end of June in The Grantham Room which is located in the Gardens. The title for the exhibition is Newby Hall & Gardens and other Yorkshire Scenes. FREE TICKETS are available for the Gardens, do read on…...

It all started when I was asked to paint the Newby Hall Gardens at the Autumn Harrogate Flower Show. I painted the stunning, award-winning borders and the House. Crowds of people gathered round to watch me. I was in my element painting the entire border just using leaves, twigs and moss dipped into acrylic paint. I then added bees, butterflies and birds and the picture-perfect 17th Century house.

Following this I was invited to paint in Newby Hall Gardens over the Autumn and Winter when closed to the public.

It’s been an amazing privilege as I painted outside with just the birds, bees and birds and butterflies for company!!! I chose iconic, well-known views of the garden.

I have created five original paintings for this Newby Hall Collection. They are: - Newby Hall from the Borders; The Rock Garden, The Autumn Garden; The Prunus Cherry Plum trees and Wild Narcissi. I will be painting here over the Summer to add to the collection. The originals will be displayed in the Grantham Room located in the Gardens. The originals, Limited Edition prints and cards will be available to buy in the Newby Hall shop and via my website www.anitabowerman.co.uk Do contact me if you have any questions.

If you would like to visit the Gardens and see my artwork at The Grantham Room free of charge, please email me at info@anitabowerman.co.uk 2 tickets per customer. The house is amazing too, it’s just £10 upgrade to see the house each.

Do let me know what you think after you have visited.

My background to painting outside stems from early childhood. No matter what the weather - I'll always try and paint outside of my studio to capture the subject matter be it animals, landscapes or as is often the case - a combination!

Beautiful autumn colouring this year inspired me to capture the cherry trees on the stray in Harrogate - slightly windy conditions made the outdoors challenging but well worth the effort - !

Had a fabulous time at the gardens of Monet in the tranquil village of Giverny. Made all the more exciting when a massive storm hit the village the evening we arrived - ended up eating my Sea Bass in a plate full of rainwater..... as the restaurant got deluged!
