Anita Bowerman has been an artist for more than 20 years and formerly worked as a buyer at Liberty London, the world-famous Regent Street store. She paints around the picturesque Yorkshire countryside and in her beautiful Victorian art studio. Located in the centre of Harrogate in North Yorkshire, the Dove Tree Art Gallery & Studio displays Anita’s artwork and hosts her art classes.
Anita’s original art includes paintings, paper cuts and stainless steel artworks. Gouache, watercolours, oil pastels, acrylics and pen & ink are all materials Anita uses in her paintings - all available as open or limited edition giclée art prints. The majority of Anita’s tree, wildlife and landscape paintings are Yorkshire-based but she has also painted in Scotland, France and Italy.
Anita’s paper cutting art has sold worldwide, with many pieces including complex maps taking months to complete. Her laser-cut metal wall art is based on some of her original paper cuts. Her acclaimed paper cut maps of the Tour de France Grand Départ Yorkshire route have won her many fans in the world of cycling.
Launched in 2018, Anita has created a range of luxury designer cushions featuring her original paper cut designs and these cushions can be purchased here. The cushions appeared in the World of Interiors magazine.
Anita is frequently asked to undertake art commissions for individuals and corporate clients. These have included Yorkshire Air Ambulance, Virgin Money and London Silver Vaults.
As Official Artist of the Tour de Yorkshire 2015 and a finalist for the Best Achievement of the Year in the 2016 Harrogate District Hospitality and Tourism Awards, Anita is one of Yorkshire’s best known and respected artists. She is also artist in residence at Hazlewood Castle.

“Anita has worked with Yorkshire Air Ambulance for three years and has created such beautiful artworks for notelets, special commemorations and Christmas cards. Anita's work is so unique in style and with a focus on the countryside and heritage of Yorkshire which our supporters adore."
— Abby Barmby - Director of Marketing and Communications, Yorkshire Air Ambulance
"We commissioned Anita to create a school Christmas card because we were so impressed with her paper cut of the Tour de France route. We wanted to create a card which would be striking and distinctive as well as celebrating the creativity of one of our former pupils."
— Helen Clapham – Head of Communications, The Grammar School at Leeds
"It’s great to have Anita on board as an official artist. Her work is wonderfully intricate and unique, and it’s a real thrill to see a piece of Anita’s work capture the essence of the Tour de Yorkshire in art form."
— Gary Verity – CEO, Welcome to Yorkshire
I was flattered to be invited to talk to guests at a business event at the prestigious hotel at Rudding Park, near Harrogate, North Yorkshire last June which was themed around nature. As well as making the after dinner speech I gave an art demonstration and there was an exhibition of some of my artwork.
I was so honoured and excited to be invited to visit the Aireborough Learning Partnership Trust art exhibition, which this year focused on the use of recycled materials in the artworks produced by the 12-member schools.
