My first ever online children’s’ half hour art lesson

Please watch my first ever online children’s’ half hour art lesson which I recorded live on 8th May 2020 as part of the Harrogate Lockdown Festival in aid of Harrogate Community Hospital Fund. You can still see the video live here…. In the first part of the lesson we made watercolour paints using things you find in your kitchen such as coffee, spices and spinach and then painted a woodland scene. In the second part we created a circular rainbow with a Dove of Peace in the middle for the NHS and VE Day.

I recorded it on an iPad in our dining room, 20 people were followings live and I even received emails showing me the finished artwork created by the children. Here are some of them.

In the afternoon I recorded another lesson for adults on how to paint flowers. You could tell it was live as the dog woofed.

Over that Bank Holiday weekend, over 30 local businesses took part, all giving online activities for free in return for donations from the public. Over £8,000 was raised, an amazing achievement.

The lessons I recorded are permanently on my Anita Bowerman Facebook Page for you to watch and if you follow me on social media I will let you know when the next live lessons are.

Beautiful autumn colouring this year inspired me to capture the cherry trees on the stray in Harrogate - slightly windy conditions made the outdoors challenging but well worth the effort - !

Had a fabulous time at the gardens of Monet in the tranquil village of Giverny. Made all the more exciting when a massive storm hit the village the evening we arrived - ended up eating my Sea Bass in a plate full of rainwater..... as the restaurant got deluged!
