My artwork at David Lloyd, Harrogate

My artwork at David Lloyd, Harrogate

It’s funny how life is. I was contacted ‘out of the blue’ by David Lloyd, Harrogate Health Club, asking me if I would like to display my artwork on the Club’s walls. It seems the management had been looking for some time for a local artist and felt my style of painting, based on nature, in uplifting colours was a perfect fit for the club and their members in Harrogate.

So, I am pleased to say that I now display 15 Limited Edition Prints on canvas and paper, around the Club, in the entrance, the Club Bar, the Business Lounge, walkways and landings and just outside the Yoga Studio.

It is wonderful to be able to showcase my work here, to a local audience. Hopefully, the familiar scenes will help inspire people while they exercise or wind-down. My paintings focus on some notable landmarks and scenery which many will instantly recognise or be drawn to. I will be changing the pictures from time to time to refresh the walls.

All the pictures were painted outside in and around Harrogate and Yorkshire using nature to paint nature, just using the end of a twig to paint with.

They include my signature Cherry Blossom and Bluebell pictures, local Bluebell woods. New pictures of the Café at the Valley Gardens and Tewit Well as well as scenes from RHS Garden Harlow Carr, Boxing Hares and other Yorkshire scenes.

If you are a member, I will also be doing ‘Pop Up’ days in the Club Lounge, to meet me and see how I work. I may also do an evening perhaps.

Later in Spring I will also be painting two views of David Lloyd outside when the Cherry Blossom are out.

You never know what is around the corner!

If you are not a member but would like to see my work, do visit my Dove Tree Art Gallery from Thursday 24th to Sunday 27th March inclusive 10am to 4pm or email me HERE to arrange to pop in.

My background to painting outside stems from early childhood. No matter what the weather - I'll always try and paint outside of my studio to capture the subject matter be it animals, landscapes or as is often the case - a combination!

Beautiful autumn colouring this year inspired me to capture the cherry trees on the stray in Harrogate - slightly windy conditions made the outdoors challenging but well worth the effort - !

Had a fabulous time at the gardens of Monet in the tranquil village of Giverny. Made all the more exciting when a massive storm hit the village the evening we arrived - ended up eating my Sea Bass in a plate full of rainwater..... as the restaurant got deluged!
