In September this year, the world-famous Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) race was staged in Harrogate and I was contacted by British Cycling two weeks before the event and was asked to create a piece of artwork made from stainless-steel to present to the President of the UCI.
Talk about art and nature by Anita Bowerman and Amanda Owen, The Yorkshire Shepherdess at RHS Garden Harlow Carr.
I have nearly completed my year as Artist-in-Residence at RHS Garden Harlow Carr. I love painting outside and immersing myself in nature, which painting scenes around the gardens at Harlow Carr has given me the opportunity to do. I have painted using fallen twigs, leaves, moss and other natural materials.
I was recently commissioned by The Raglan Suite in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, to create these four brightly coloured paintings for the reception area of this prestigious dental practice and skin treatment suite.
I am thrilled and honoured to have been appointed as the Artist-in-Residence at RHS Garden Harlow Carr in Harrogate. I have just completed the first in a series of 12 paintings I will be creating over the forthcoming 12 months. The full collection will go on display at Harlow Carr’s flower show from 21 to 23 June 2019.
