I have illustrated for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance Charity for 4 years now and it has been a pleasure to produce many best-selling Christmas Card designs for them. Listen to me talking out some of the illustrations I have created here in my Dove Tree Art
This is a new watercolour painting I have created for 2020 and features the iconic Cow and Calf Rocks on Ilkley Moor.
I love adding detail and creating little stories in my illustrations. Here you see a family, with ‘hats on’ walking their sheepdog and beagle with two little children, there is also a Cockapoo dog in the scene. To add a Christmas touch, spot the Robin and deer along with the sheep.
The Yorkshire Shepherdess, Amanda Owen, is a well-known iconic Yorkshire figure, who together with her 9 children and husband Clive feature on Our Yorkshire Farm, the hit Channel 5 TV series. I contacted Amanda two years ago to see if she would like to be featured in a Yorkshire Air Ambulance Christmas card. Since then I have produced two card designs with her on. The most recent design shows Amanda in an ancient barn at the Ravenseat farm with some of her animals and children. I have illustrated a small story as the animals look at each other, children mischievously peeping around the door, there is Tony the Pony, sheepdogs Kate and Bill as the scene is set for Christmas. There is holly hanging from a beam, candles and a Robin and even a bright star at the window, not forgetting the helicopter!
There are 10 cards in a pack and both these card designs measure 18cm x 12cm. They are £4 from my Dove Tree Art Gallery in Harrogate on a temporary click and collect basis or Jenni’s Dresser in Otley or alternatively, please contact www.yorkshireairambulance.org.uk to buy these for £5 including postage and see the other designs I have created. These include Malham Cove, Ribblehead Viaduct and Roseberry Topping.
100 percent of the profit from each pack of cards goes directly to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance charity. They need £12,000 per day to keep 2 helicopters flying, so your help is really needed.

My background to painting outside stems from early childhood. No matter what the weather - I'll always try and paint outside of my studio to capture the subject matter be it animals, landscapes or as is often the case - a combination!

Beautiful autumn colouring this year inspired me to capture the cherry trees on the stray in Harrogate - slightly windy conditions made the outdoors challenging but well worth the effort - !

Had a fabulous time at the gardens of Monet in the tranquil village of Giverny. Made all the more exciting when a massive storm hit the village the evening we arrived - ended up eating my Sea Bass in a plate full of rainwater..... as the restaurant got deluged!
