The Edwardian Garden at RHS Garden Harlow Carr, August (Original, framed)

ABA70078

This original painting in acrylic, gouache and ink, which was created in August 2019 at RHS Garden Harlow Carr, is framed in a pale wood frame.

Bursting with flowers, Anita adored the spectacle of The Edwardian Garden, recently reopened, after refurbishment. Roses were abundant, and butterflies fluttered all around Anita as she sat in the sun.

Anita created this scene sitting outside 'en plein air', using mainly moss dipped into acrylic paint to create the foliage and texture as well as twigs to paint the trees.

She spoke to so many people, heard their stories, and hopefully inspired a few who were curious to see how she paints.

Anita had been appointed the Artist-in-Residence at RHS Garden Harlow Carr and this is the last in a series of 12 paintings she created up to the end of her residency in September 2019.
