Staithes is a small picturesque village on the East Coast of Yorkshire which was once one of the largest fishing ports in the North East of England. It is famous for its quirky, 18th cottages, beloved as a subject to paint by many famous artists who set up the Staithes Group of Artists. Anita rented a cottage here with the purpose of painting views of Staithes and other seaside destinations near here.
Anita sat outside and painted this scene which is usually captured from a higher elevation, just using ink and gouache, a thick watercolour.
