Morning Light, Sandsend (Original canvas - unframed)

Painted on Sandsend Beach early in the morning, Morning Light, Sandsend captures the quiet beauty of the Yorkshire coast as the first light falls across the sea and shoreline.  Looking towards Whitby, the distant silhouette of Whitby Abbey can be seen resting on the headland, softened by the gentle haze.

I wanted to capture the peaceful moment before the beach came alive, the pale blue sky, shimmering water, soft golden sand and the subtle tones of the coastal landscape.

A personal study of one of my favourite stretches of the Yorkshire Coast, painted directly from the view at Sandsend.

It is painted on a 3D canvas ready to hang and would suit any home or office.
