A Summer Like No Other in Stunning Swaledale, Yorkshire

The landscape of Yorkshire varies so much depending on which area you visit. I have always wanted to paint the undulating hills and valleys of Swaledale – all those dry-stone walls and ancient barns with stunning countryside in the Dales complete with the wildlife and farm animals.

I discovered this amazing view at the top of a hill looking down the valley towards the village of Mukker with barns as far as the eye can see and set up my paints and canvas outside to capture the scenery. I used, moss to depict the tree foliage and the end of a fallen twig to create the trees and dry-stone walls all around, dipping them into acrylic paint. Spot the Curlew, sheep, and Pheasant family.

This painting is very special to me and would enhance any wall space either in a house or the office, bringing that wonderful scenery inside.
