This idyllic scene shows Amanda Owen, The Yorkshire Shepherdess at the height of Summer in the Hay Meadows with her nine children, animals, wildlife, insects and flowers and Clive on a tractor in the distance on their Ravenseat farm. It took me while to Illustrate this painting using watercolour and gouache, a thick watercolour. The foreground painting showing the Meadows was initially used for the Bone China Yorkshire Shepherdess Mug illustration. I have added the farm in the background and a pastel sky to complete the picture.
