Fountains Abbey in Summer, Turners View

ABA70122

Collections: Archive

Anita was really lucky to have met a lady called Bernice, one day as she sat besides the stream painting ‘Spring Snowdrops by the River’ which you can see on this website ABA50080.

Bernice invited Anita to use her private land from which to paint this scene of Fountains Abbey. Bernice told Anita that William Turner had sat and painted from this spot.

Fountain’s Abbey looks so summery surrounded by the Yorkshire fields and sheep as Anita painted on a boiling hot day. She used twigs, leaves and moss to paint with.
